Plukon Food Group BV (formerly Plukon Royale) is a Dutch- Belgian-German group of companies in the meat industry with headquarters in Wezep in the province of Gelderland . It is one of the largest producers and processors of poultry meat in Central and Northwest Europe.

Structure and key figures

Until the end of 2008, Plukon Royale was 100% owned by the Cebeco Groep , a large Dutch farmers ' cooperative , in which another Dutch farmers' cooperative , Agrifirm , is one of the largest shareholders. Since the beginning of 2009, the majority of Plukon Royale's equity has been held by a fund of the Dutch investment company Gilde Buy Out Partners . However, Agrifirm is still a business partner of Plukon Royale and intends to acquire a direct minority stake.

Plukon Food is divided into three operationally independent subgroups:

  • Plukon Poultry
  • Pingo Poultry
  • Vleesch du Bois

Plukon Royale operates a total of 13 branches (eight slaughterhouses and five processing plants) in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium (as of 2014). The group of companies has a total capacity of around 6.8 million chicken slaughters per week. The products are marketed either fresh or frozen under the Friki , Pingo , Hencu , Vleesch du Bois and private label brands . The sales area includes the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Northwestern and Eastern Europe.
