The Plummer Building is a 91 meter tall building in Rochester , Minnesota and is part of the Mayo Clinic .

Planning for the building began in 1924. Henry Stanley Plummer , who had designed the “1914 Building”, designed the new clinic building to be built together with the brothers William James and Charles Horace Mayo and the architecture firm Ellerbe Becket . This should give the doctors optimal treatment options, but at the same time also offer the patients great comfort. Construction began in August 1926 and was completed in 1928. After the building was initially called the "1928 Building" after its completion year, it was later named the Plummer Building . On the roof of the building there is a tower with a carillon .

In 1969, the Plummer Building was listed as a National Historic Landmark and added to the National Register of Historic Places . Until the completion of the Gonda Building in 2001, it was the tallest building in Rochester.
