Poet and Bauer is a 1946 American animated short film directed by Dick Lundy .

action

The "Hollywood Washbowl Orchestra", made up of a wide variety of animals, tunes its instruments. The audience is waiting. Andy Panda appears on the podium as a conductor, first has to chase away a frog who is sitting under his wig , and then begins conducting the piece poet and farmer by Franz von Suppè . At first everything goes well. Andy Panda's chest piece soon gets caught on the conductor's desk and he tries to solve it. He gets out of time and the animals begin to play jazz following his baton movements.

A short time later Andy Panda freed himself and you go back to Soupé. Other incidents only marginally disrupt the game: birds settle on the baton and are eaten by a cat, a dancing duck falls victim to a hungry fox, while the second duck successfully defends itself, and several animals get through their instruments playing each other. Andy Panda can finally finish the piece, but is struck down with a frying pan by the bird-eating cat.
