The Pointe du Skodern ( French ) is a headland on the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It lies between Cape Bienvenue and Cape Jules .
French scientists named it in 2010 based on the neighboring Baie du Skodern . It is named after the Skodern motorboat , which was used for hydrographic surveys in this area from 1951 to 1952 and sank on May 17, 1952.
