Cape Polar Sea is a cape on the western foothills of Coulman Island off the Borchgrevink coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names renamed it in 1998. It is named after the icebreaker USCGC Polar Sea , which from 1980 to 1997 in eleven Antarctic campaigns of the United States Antarctic Program mainly in the Ross Sea , the Amundsen Sea and in the Bellingshausen Sea had been used .
