Poley is part of the municipality of Sallgast in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg . It lies between the places Luise-Siedlung, Henriette and Karl-Marx-Siedlung .

The village was formerly called "Colony Poley" and has belonged to Sallgast since 1928. Poley consists of 34 lots and the same number of houses in the same architectural style. Half of the settlement is surrounded by forest and is adjacent to an opencast mine . In summer the adjacent pit pond invites you to swim. In Poley there is an annual village festival and an Easter bonfire, which not only attracts its own, but also the residents of the surrounding areas. Poley only counts two streets, the main street and the Birkenweg. The L552 passes the village. The zip code is 03238 and the area code is 035329.

Before the fall of the Wall , the village still had a factory inn, but today it is only a ruin. Poley now has the Hotel Garni, which also offers visitors to the EuroSpeedway Lausitz accommodation, a sports and playground and a shooting range.
