Göllnitz ( Jeleńce in Lower Sorbian ) is a district of the municipality of Sallgast from the Kleine Elster district in the Elbe-Elster district in Brandenburg .

geography

The place is six kilometers north of Sallgast and nine kilometers east of Massen , where the administrative headquarters of the Kleine Elster office is located. The neighboring towns are clockwise Rutzkau in the north, Saadow in the northeast, Lipten and Lug in the east, Wormlage in the southeast, Dollenchen in the south, Lieskau in the southwest, Massen in the west, and Lindthal and Rehain in the northwest.

history

Göllnitz was first mentioned in a document in 1346. The place name is derived from the Sorbian word jeleń for deer .

On October 26, 2003, the previously independent municipality of Göllnitz was dissolved and a district of the municipality of Sallgast.
