Henriette

Henriette is part of the Brandenburg community of Sallgast . It has about 130 inhabitants.

The place is southeast of the village of Sallgast in a wooded area northwest of Annahütte . It was built around 1900 under the name "Kolonie Henriette" as a miners' settlement for the open- cast coal mine "Bismarck II". It got its name from the "Henriette" briquette factory, which was in operation around 1880, in the immediate vicinity.

After the coal mine was closed in 1932, the briquette factory was no longer profitable. The facilities were blown up in 1938.
