Polignac is a French noble family from Languedoc .

history

The castle and the municipality of Polignac are located northwest of the town of Le Puy-en-Velay . The family, which had belonged to the Vice-County of Polignac since the 11th century, died out in 1385, but their name was taken over by the descendants in the female line, the House of Chalençon .
