The polissoir of Velaine sur Sambre is located in a forest near the hamlet Onoz, in the east of Velaine sur Sambre , near Charleroi in the province of Namur in Belgium .

A Neolithic polissoir was discovered in 1927 a hundred meters from the menhir Pierre qui Tourne . The quartz block is about 4.0 m long, 2.3 m wide and 0.5 m high. It has about 30 grooves, some of which are deeper. Most are closely spaced and parallel. The polissoir was used by the Neolithic to grind tools ( axes , blades ) and to smooth their surfaces. Near some were deductions from flint and pottery shards found.

Nearby is the menhir Pierre qui Tourne (Velaine sur Sambre) .
