Magdalena Pöschl (* 1970 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian law scholar and university professor . Pöschl is a professor at the Institute of Constitutional and Administrative Law, since 2012 University of Vienna , where she a chair than ordinary university professor of Constitutional and Administrative Law.

Magdalena Pöschl was born in 1970 in the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck . In 1988 she began studying law at the University of Innsbruck , which she continued from 1990 at the University of Vienna . Professional background

From 1997 to 1998 Magdalena Pöschl worked as a research assistant in Vienna at the Constitutional Court . She then returned to the Innsbruck Institute for Public Law and Political Science as a university assistant in 1999 to devote herself to her habilitation . With her habilitation thesis on the subject of “ Equality before the Law ”, Magdalena Pöschl finally received her habilitation in January 2004 and was authorized to teach constitutional and administrative law at the University of Innsbruck .

As a result, from March 2004, she worked as an associate professor in Innsbruck. Shortly afterwards, in October 2004, Magdalena Pöschl accepted a position at the University of Salzburg , where she became a university professor in the field of public law, constitutional and administrative law. Two years later, in October 2006, she switched to a professorship in public law at the Institute for Austrian, European and Comparative Public Law, Political Science and Administrative Studies at the University of Graz .

In October 2012, Magdalena Pöschl finally changed her place of research and teaching again and returned to the university where she had completed her undergraduate studies. She was appointed to a chair for constitutional and administrative law at the Institute for constitutional and administrative law at the University of Vienna . Her main research interests are in the areas of fundamental rights , rule of law , state organization , general administrative law , trade law , aliens law and research law.

Magdalena Pöschl was initially a correspondent from 2010 to 2012 and has been a real member of the philosophical-historical class of the Austrian Academy of Sciences since 2012 .
