Police Association Hamburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Police Association Hamburg e. V. was founded in 1991. The aim is to promote the relationship of trust between the Hamburg police force and the public.

The police association supports the police in this canvassing. Similar to a school association for a school, it can help the police where there is no money available in the public budget. The Hamburg Police Association is non-profit, non-partisan and independent.

On June 26, 1991 the entry was made in the register of associations at the Hamburg District Court .

The founder and chairman from 1993 to the end of 2014 is the lawyer Dirk Reimers . The former Hamburg police chief Werner Jantosch has been chairman of the police association since the end of 2014 .

The association has provided well over a million euros since it was founded (as of September 2011).

Since the association was founded in 1991, the establishment of a police museum has been in the statutes. The police association sees a special focus here and wants to help raise the necessary donations. With the support of the association, the nationwide unique, modern, interactive Police Museum Hamburg was set up on the premises of the State Police School . The content of the museum was publicly criticized at the end of 2010. Since December 2010 a scientific advisory board has been advising on historical issues.
