Polish National Democratic Party

The Polish National Democratic Party (short: Poland Party ) was a party in the German Reich , which the Polish minority in Germany represented. The party was represented in the German Reichstag from 1903 to 1918. Your MPs were grouped together in the Polish parliamentary group.

Emergence

The Polish National Democratic Party was on 7. October 1903 in Beuthen (Upper Silesia) through the merger of the Polish election Association of Silesia (Katolik Party) with the radical Polish People's Association (Korfanty Party), previously political rivals, to a joint election committee for Silesia founded from which the Polish National Democratic party then (briefly Poland party ) emerged. The party sat down especially for workers in industry and mining , as well as their relatives and had focal points in West Prussia , Upper Silesia (especially Upper Silesia , Rybnik , Kreis Pless ), and particularly in the province of Posen , but also in the Ruhr area .

The party existed for several decades (including the 1920 Reichstag election ). Her successor was the Polish People's Party (PVP), which ran in the Reichstag elections in 1924 , 1928 and 1930 . This was in turn replaced in 1932 by the Polish list .

Electoral successes

In the Reichstag election in 1907 , 4.0% of the vote went to the party, which received 20 seats in the new Reichstag. In 1912 she was able to win 18 seats with 3.6% of the vote.

In the province of Westphalia , the Polish Party achieved 2.9% (1907) and 3.4% (1912) in the aforementioned elections. In some cities in the Ruhr area it was one of the strongest parties.
