The upholstery and decoration sewer is a state-recognized training occupation according to the German Vocational Training Act and Crafts Code .
Duration of training and structure
The training period for upholstery and decorative sewing is usually two years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .
Work areas
Upholstery and decoration Closer provide window and room decoration and upholstery parts , upholstery and slipcovers ago. They operate sewing machines and ironing systems , and produce cutting templates and blanks. Upholstery and decorative sewers work in the interior decoration trade , in the upholstered furniture industry or in curtain sewing. They can also be used by companies that provide corresponding services, for example in the service area of a department store.
Continuation of training
Apprentices who have successfully completed their training can start their third year of training as an upholsterer or interior decorator and thus acquire a further professional qualification.
