Polyphemus (Argonaut)
Polyphemus ( Greek Πολύφημος ) is a figure in Greek mythology .
He and his brother Kaineus were sons of Elatos from Larissa and his wife Hippe , who was also called Hippeia. Polyphemus married Laonome , a sister of Heracles ; but here there is an overlap with Euphemos .
As Lapithe , Elatos was once invited with his sons to the wedding of King Peirithoos , where father and brothers also took part in the famous battle against the Centaurs .
Polyphemus sailed with the Argonauts but stayed in Mysia , where he founded the city of Kios . He later fell fighting the Chalybers .
