The Polytechnic University of Tirana (Albanian: Universiteti Politeknik i Tiranes ) is a technical university in Tirana , Albania . The university goes back to the Tirana Polytechnic Institute, founded in 1951, which became part of the University of Tirana in 1957 . In 1991 this institution became independent again and forms an independent, state TU.
