The Pommerenkenteich is a body of water in Bardenitz , a district of the municipality of Treuenbrietzen in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in the state of Brandenburg .
location
The water is located in the south of the district outside of the historic center. The lake can be reached via the Zur Hermannsmühle road, which branches off west of the 812 road.
history
The lake is not of natural origin. It was created in connection with the construction of the Hermannsmühle , which initially served as a paper mill . The papermaker Johann Christian Gregor built a house there in 1724 and, according to the Brandenburg State Office for Monument Preservation and State Archaeological Museum (BLDAM), had the pond built a year later. In 1852, the water flow was changed in the way it can still be seen in 2018. In 1859 the Hennickendorf master miller Christlieb Hermann took over the mill. It later became the property of the Pommerenke family, who gave the pond its name.
