The Bardenitzer Fließ is a right tributary of the Friedrichsgraben in Brandenburg , which runs east of the city of Treuenbrietzen .

course

The river rises in the meadows at the transition from the Glogau-Baruther glacial valley to the higher Fläming from a spring niche , an underground cave that has been washed out by groundwater. This lies northeast of the Treuenbrietzener district Klausdorf on a meadow. From there the river crosses under the road 812 and leads into the southern part of the district to Bardenitz . There, the river has been dammed in the artificially created Pommerenkenteich since 1725 . The water has been driving the Hermannsmühle there since the 18th century . The river runs from there in an arc to Bardenitz and crosses under the Treuenbrietzener Straße, which runs to the west .

North of the town center, the river runs further west of the settlement in a northerly direction through the Bardenitz meadows . They are drained into the river through further channels running parallel to the river. North of the meadows drained through the nature reserve Zarth leading turning water into the flow. A few meters further north, the Beke, coming from the east, supplies more water. In Niebelhorst the river crosses the district road 6915 west of the village center and drains north of it into the Friedrichsgraben, which in turn drains into the Nieplitz. While the course of the river meanders strongly in the southern area , its middle course has been completely straightened due to the surrounding agricultural use. In 2009, the 12 dams in the flow were renovated for around 580,000 euros.

Flora and fauna, tourist use

Numerous alder trees thrive on the banks of the Bardenitz river , which have a positive effect on the temperatures in the river even when the sun is shining. Salmon fish , mayflies, stone flies and caddis flies thrive in the comparatively clear spring water . The bank areas are populated by the demoiselle . Tall herbaceous corridors thrive especially in the southern area . The landscape development association Nuthe-Nieplitz-Niederung e. V. offers guided tours along this section.
