Ponholz is a village and district of Maxhütte-Haidhof in the Schwandorf district in Bavaria . Until 1978, Ponholz was the seat of the municipality of the same name , which belonged to the Regensburg district .
history
Ponholz is mentioned as panholtz in the Duke's Surbar of 1240 . The municipality of Ponholz came into being with the Bavarian municipal edict of 1818 and included the towns of Ponholz, Brücklhof, Engelbrunn, Hagenau, Medersbach and Schwarzhof. On May 1, 1978, the previously independent municipality of Ponholz ( district of Regensburg ) was dissolved and its main part was incorporated into the town of Maxhütte-Haidhof in the district of Schwandorf . Hagenau and Medersbach came to Regenstauf .
Even before 1978, the town of Maxhütte-Haidhof owned a district called Ponholz, which was not connected to the then still independent municipality of Ponholz.
