The Ponte Armando Guebuza is a road bridge inaugurated in 2009 over the Zambezi near the city of Caia in Mozambique . At 2736 meters long and 16 meters wide, the bridge is the second longest Zambezi bridge after the Ponte Dona Ana railway bridge a little further above the river . It is km after the 280 upstream in Tete lying Samora Machel Bridge and Ponte Kassuende the third road bridge in Mozambique over the Zambezi and the last bridge before the Indian Ocean .

Construction work began in March 2006 and the official opening was on August 1, 2009. The bridge is named after Armando Guebuza , the country's president at the time. It connects the provinces of Sofala and Zambezia . The cost of its construction is estimated at 80 million US dollars .
