Zambezia (Zambézia) is a province of Mozambique . It is located in the central part of the country between the border with Malawi and the Indian Ocean. Their capital is Quelimane .
The province is named after the Zambezi River , which marks its southern border (to the Sofala Province ) and finally reaches its confluence with the Indian Ocean. There are mangrove swamps on the coast; further inland there are forests. The agriculture in Zambezia mainly produces rice , corn , cassava , cashew nuts , sugar cane , coconuts , citrus fruits , cotton and tea ; The largest tea plantation in Mozambique is located in Gurué . Shrimp are fished and gemstones are extracted from various deposits .

Postal area
