Lezíria bridge is a haunched concrete box - girder bridge in Portugal . It spans the Tejo and the Rio Sorraia between Carregado , Lisbon district and Benavente , Santarém district .

The bridge enables north-south traffic to avoid the urban area of Lisbon . The structure is used for three three lanes on the A10 motorway . A toll of € 1.15 is levied for the single crossing .

The total length of the cantilevered concrete bridge structure is around 12 km, of which around 1700 m is accounted for by the northern and 9230 m by the southern bridge ramp. The main structure has a length of 972 m. The spans are two times 95 m, 127, 133 and four times 130 m.

A total of 400,000 m³ of concrete and 45,000 tons of steel were used. The bridge was inaugurated on July 8, 2007 by the Portuguese Prime Minister José Sócrates .
