Pop im Hafen was an open-air festival with free admission held annually from 2005 to 2007 by the radio station SWR3 in Mannheim .

The SWR3 studio manager Gregor Friedel had the idea to use the backdrop of the Mannheim harbor not far from the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg and the music park for a music event. Without any major advertising measures, he organized a concert with Laith al-Deen on a stage set up on a container ship in the connecting canal. With 8,000 spectators, the audience was unexpectedly large, so the station decided to hold Pop im Hafen annually.

In 2006 Reamonn , Silbermond and Cosmo Klein performed . With 14,000 spectators the harbor area was completely overcrowded, so it was decided to move the stage towards the Neckar to the music park. In 2007 u. a. Wallis Bird , Sunrise Avenue , 2-room apartment , Gunslinger and Wir sind Helden in front of 30,000 spectators. The evening before, the SWR3 dance night took place in a large number of clubs and bars in the Mannheim-Jungbusch district bordering the harbor . In 2008, Pop in the port had to be canceled due to an inadequate program and did not take place afterwards.
