The Porcelaine is a French dog breed recognized by the FCI ( No. 30, Gr. 6, Sec. 1.2 ) .

Origin and history

The Porcelaine has its ancestry with the great hunting dogs of the Middle Ages . In the middle of the 19th century it was crossed with the Somerset Harrier , then the Grand Gascon Saintongeois was added. The breed solidified so that it was shown at exhibitions from 1898. The name is said to come from the fact that its fur shimmers like porcelain.

description

Up to 58 cm tall and 28 kg heavy hunting dog, very white with rounded orange spots. The hair is short, fine, dense and shiny, the ears are very large, lobed and when you put them forward, they reach the tip of the nose.
