The Poria source ( Greek Πηγή Πωριά Pigí Poriá ) is located roughly in the geographical center of the Greek island of Kos at the exit of Andimachia (also: Antimáchia ) in the direction of Kardamena , about 60 meters after the roundabout in a natural depression at about the same height above sea level of 130 m .
The Poria spring is provided with a rather elaborate stone enclosure, which among other things also serves to collect and drain the spring water. As a rule, the spring does not run dry even on hot days. This creates a special habitat around the spring ( Krenal ) for plants and animals.
Every now and then at Christmas time, the residents of Andimáchia set up a large nativity scene in a stable-like building next to the spring .
