Pornsawan Plungwechsel ( Thai : พรสวรรค์ ปลั่ง เวช ; born January 15, 1973 in Bangkok ) is a former Thai badminton player .

Athletic career

In 1992, Pornsawan started plunging for the first time at the Olympics in women's singles. There she won her first round match against Viktoria Hristova from Bulgaria and also the second game against Rhona Robertson . In the third round game against Sarwendah Kusumawardhani, however, she lost and was ninth. At the 1996 Olympics she also won in round one against Catrine Bengtsson and in round two against Jeng Shwu-Zen , but was eliminated again in the round of 16 against Han Jingna .

She won nationally for the first time at the Thai championships in 1991 in women's doubles with Jaroensiri Somhasurthai . 1994 to 1997 both won four more double titles in a row. Pornsawan Plungwechsel won the singles in 1993, 1996 and 1997. She won the mixed competition with Siripong Siripool from 1994 to 1996. In 1997 she won bronze in the women's singles at the Southeast Asian Games.
