From 1980 the second part of the marinas was built and in 1985 the original construction plan of the Chamber of Commerce of Nîmes was completed. Due to the great demand, numerous additional marinas and a second port were built. Apartment houses and villas were also built.

economy

With 4600 berths, Port-Camargue is one of the largest marinas in Europe. More and more permanent residents have settled here and business is intensifying (with more than a hundred stores). Tourism, combined with the marina and water sports are the main reasons for the growth of Port-Camargue. The numerous and huge campsites and large beaches (from which Espiguette beach extends from here to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer ) also play a role .
