Porta marathon

The Porta-Marathon was in East Westphalia Minden-Lübbecke veranstalteter Marathon , which was held since 2009 and thus in the tradition of up to 2006 carried out Minden Marathon saw.

The route ran over a flat stretch and was therefore relatively fast. In addition to the classic marathon, a half marathon , a 10-kilometer run, a relay run and a bambi run were also offered.

The Porta Marathon was organized by the company porta! Möbel , Barkhausen, sponsored. The event ran under the sporting direction of Eintracht Minden. The 3rd Porta Marathon took place on May 22, 2011. In 2012, the main organizer, Porta Markt, withdrew from the sporting event, which took place for the third and last time in 2011.

history

In 2009 the district of Minden-Lübbecke was looking for a follow-up event to the Minden Marathon and was able to win the owners of Porta Möbel to sponsor the running event. In 2011, this growing major event will be canceled from the fourth round due to the lack of further major sponsors and the great burden for the volunteer organizers.
