Quartier de la Porte-Dauphine

Porte Dauphine is officially the 63rd district of Paris and one of four quarters in the 16th arrondissements to the north-west of which it is located. At its northern tip it borders on the 17th arrondissements , on the entire east side on Chaillot and on the south on Muette , while in the west it merges into the Bois de Boulogne .

origin of the name

The quarter got its name from the Porte Dauphine ( French for Tor Dauphin ), which is located in the middle of the Place du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny and symbolizes the transition to the Bois de Boulogne.

Limitations

At the Place de la Porte Maillot , its northernmost point, the district borders on the 17th arrondissement.

The border with Chaillot runs from Place de la Porte Maillot in a southerly direction along avenue de Malakoff and avenue Raymond Poincaré to Place du Trocadéro-et-du-11-Novembre ; a point of intersection also to the Quartier Muette. Avenues Malakoff and Raymond Poincaré begin and end in the geographical center of the Parisian boulevard, Avenue Foch , whose west side belongs to the Quartier de la Porte Dauphine. The Avenue Raymond Poincaré also crosses the Place Victor Hugo , half of which also belongs to Porte Dauphine and half to Chaillot.

The southern boundary to Muette runs from the Place du Trocadéro in the east over the Avenue Georges-Mandel and the Avenue Henri-Martin to the Place de Colombie in the west.

Transport links

At the edge of the area there are a total of four stations of the Paris Métro : in the west the name of the neighborhood bearing Porte Dauphine , which also on the route of Line 2 is like the location on the border of Chaillot in the East Station Victor Hugo . On the route which is located on the southern border with Muette line 9 situated station Rue de la Pompe and south in the extreme angle of the lines 6 operated and 9 Trocadero .
