Porte de Gênes
The Porte de Gênes (also known as Porte d'Italie ) in Breil-sur-Roya , a French commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region , was opened in the 11th / 12th. Erected in the 18th century as part of the fortifications .
In 1983, the remains of the city gate were included as Monument historique in the list of architectural monuments ( Base Mérimée ) in France.
The battlement , which was covered with stone slabs, ran above the round arch of the gate .
