The Portenko red-toothed shrew ( Sorex portenkoi ) is a species from the genus of the red -toothed shrew . Like the Eurasian masked red-toothed shrew, it belongs to the Palearctic species of this genus and is one of the few insectivores in the Arctic fauna . Their distribution area is the northeastern tip of Siberia .
The body length of the Portenko red-toothed shrew, including the tail, is between 90 and 100 millimeters. Their weight is only between 3 and 4.5 grams. She has a brown torso. Their flanks, however, are yellow-brown in color. The underside of the body is gray. It looks very much like the tundra red-toothed shrew , but it is slightly smaller.
