Gunnar Johansson (born February 29, 1924 in Hjärtum , † February 14, 2003 in Aix-en-Provence ) was a Swedish football player and coach .

career

Johansson, who had come from the fifth class Inlands IF , made his debut in 1949 for GAIS Göteborg in the Allsvenskan . The midfielder came on 14 missions, but remained without a goal. In 1950 he received a professional contract with Olympique Marseille . Until 1958 he played first class for the club in Division 1 . Together with his compatriots Dan Ekner and Gunnar Andersson , he formed the "Jo-An-Da" trio there in the 1950/51 season. He then worked as a player-coach at AS Aix in Division 2 for another year .

Johansson was also a Swedish international . For the national selection, he took part in the 1950 World Cup. In the final round of the tournament, he was used twice and was able to celebrate third place after the 3-1 win against Spain .

Shortly before his 79th birthday, Johansson died on February 14th in Aix-en-Provence .
