Postage optimization

Under postage optimization refers to the processing of letters or mailings for specific policies of a post-party , so that the consignor of the programs to benefit from partial service reductions or discounts coming. The granting of wholesale discounts is tied to the fact that the mail items are grouped into bundles according to the type of letter , namely according to regions, the so-called postcode areas, individual postcodes or even districts that are served by a single mail carrier. Postage optimization is usually carried out in two steps by customers or their service providers (printers, lettershops or mailrooms ):

  1. The EDP-supported processing of recipient addresses
  2. The physical grouping of the shipments into bundles , the so-called consolidation.
