Pos Chikito is a small town on the southwest coast of Aruba .

history

The place name comes from Spanish settlers who settled there around 1500 and built their small houses, the Chiquitos , there. The place borders directly on the port of the Spanish Lagoon .

The place has become a popular residential area mainly due to its sandy beach Mangel Halto , especially in September and October when the sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach, it is also a popular vacation spot for snorkeling and diving in Aruba. There are numerous small, intimate, cozy and quiet Caribbean apartment complexes in town, known as Sea Breeze Apartments.

Pos Chikito is only a few minutes drive from the capital Oranjestad with its fine restaurants and shopping centers. In 2010 Pos Chikito had 5,259 inhabitants. No data is available on the number of holidaymakers. To airport Queen Beatrix there are about six kilometers.
