Posadowsky Canyon

The Posadowsky Canyon is a deep sea trench in the Davissee off the coast of the East Antarctic Kaiser Wilhelm II Land .
German scientists named it after the name of the neighboring Posadowskybai . It is named after Arthur von Posadowsky-Wehner (1845–1932), who as State Secretary in the Reich Office of the Interior secured a government grant to cover the costs of the Gauss expedition (1901–1903) under the direction of the German polar explorer Erich von Drygalski .
