The Posadowskybai is an open bay not far from the Gaußberg and immediately east of the West Ice Shelf in the East Antarctic Kaiser Wilhelm II Land .
It was discovered in February 1902 in the Gaussian expedition (1901-1903) under the direction of the German polar researcher Erich of Drygalski , who by Arthur of Posadowsky-Wehner named, (1845-1932) of the former than in the State Ministry of the interior of a Government grant to cover expedition costs secured.
