The Burton Island Glacier is an 11 km long and up to 15 km wide glacier in the East Antarctic Kaiser Wilhelm II Land . It flows from the continental inland ice to Posadowskybai , which it reaches west of Cape Torson .
The glacier was mapped on the basis of aerial photographs from the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names renamed it in 1955 after the icebreaker USCGC Burton Iceland , with the aid of astronomical control stations along the shorelines of the Kaiser Wilhelm II.-country, the Queen Marie-country as well as Knox and Budd Coast built were.
