Cape Torson ( Russian Мыс Торсона Mys Torsona ) is a cape on the coast of the East Antarctic Kaiser Wilhelm II . It marks the east side of the entrance to Posadowskybai .
The cape was first mapped on the basis of aerial photographs from the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947). Participants in a Soviet Antarctic expedition re-mapped in 1956. They named it after Konstantin Petrowitsch Torson (1793-1851), lieutenant on board the ship Vostok in the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819-1821) under the direction of Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen .
