The trombone work of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen looks after around 4200 wind players in over 200 trombone choirs in North and East Hesse and in the Schmalkalden exclave (Thuringia).

The trombone work is subordinate to the regional church music director. It is headed by a chairman, the 23-member state trombone council and three state trombone officers. The regional trombone attendant is responsible for the north, center and south of the regional church.

Every year the Trombone Works organizes around 10 courses and leisure time, which offer options for beginners as well as for advanced and prospective choir directors. In addition, a state trombone day is held every four years, for which a new wind instrument book is always published. The last trombone day took place in Marburg in September 2016. Furthermore, young blowers days are organized at the level of the church districts as well as that of the regional church, the latter being held every four years and also accompanied by the publication of a young blower booklet.

The Trumpet Service of the Evangelical Church of Kurhessen-Waldeck has an office in the regional church office in Kassel and is a member of the Evangelical Trumpet Service in Germany ( EPiD ).
