Weissenfels post office

The Weißenfels post office is a listed building in the town of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the building is listed as a monument with registration number 094 15457 .

The building at Saalstraße 16 in Weißenfels is the Imperial Post Office of Weißenfels, which opened on December 10, 1886 . At the beginning of the organized, large-scale postal system, Weißenfels had many small mailing offices in the city area. However, there was no central post office for the ever-growing city. So it was decided to build a post office in Saalstrasse. The general floor plan was carried out in the building department of the Reichs-Post under August Kind (1824–1904). The building was built in the neo-renaissance style. The building is still used today by Deutsche Post AG and a driving school. Other rooms were converted into offices and rented out.
