House Poststrasse 24

The corner house Poststrasse 24 / Südstrasse in Düsseldorf's Carlstadt was built in 1843 by Anton Schnitzler .

It is a classical , three-story building with a five-axis facade facing Poststrasse. The facade facing Südstrasse is divided into seven axes. The light-colored plastered facade is linear and flat structured with cuboids. The model is based on the rustics of the Italian Renaissance palaces. The window cornices , the portal and the windows on the upper floors are made of red sandstone. Below the Traufgesims is a tendrils fries , the busts shows that are set in medallions. The house is considered to be one of the best preserved late classical town houses in the city. The building is a listed building .
