The Potmess Rocks ( English , analogously for one- pot rocks ) are a group of large reef rocks in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . They are 2 km west of Heywood Island . The islands of the Asses Ears group at the northern end are also counted among them.
The name of the reef rocks derives from a stew that was served to members of a Royal Navy hydrographic surveyor who mapped the rocks between January and March 1967.
