Pouya Saraei ( Persian پویا سرایی; * April 18, 1983 ) is an Iranian composer and santoor player.

Life

Saraei started playing the Santoor when she was seven years old. Some of his music teachers were Javad Bathaie, Faramarz Payvar, Hossein Alizadeh , Pashang Kamkar, Dariush Talai and Mostafa Kamal Pourtoberab.

He worked with Christopher von Deylen on the Morgenstund album and played Santur, which reached the first place price on the official German album charts.

Saraei is also santur player in Simorq project, a musical interpretation of the Iranian national epic Shahnameh .

He has composed two concert pieces for santur and symphony orchestra, which were released in 2019 by East West Records and Sheed Records , respectively. The two concerts combine traditional Persian style with classical orchestration.

The rhapsody for symphonic orchestra Zayandeh-Rud composed by Saraei was published by the German music streaming service Idagio.
