Povel Ramel
Povel Ramel ( pronunciation : [ ˌpoːvəl ˈramːəl ], born June 1, 1922 in Stockholm , † June 5, 2007 in Lidingö ) was a Swedish musician , singer and comedian . He became known for his humorous rewriting of popular songs. In his home country, he was one of the most influential figures in the entertainment industry.
Life
Ramel came from the ancient noble family Ramel , who had been raised to the Swedish baron class . He was born in the affluent Stockholm district of Östermalm . He began his career at the age of 19 and published nearly 2,000 pieces of music by the time he died. In 1999 he was on tour with Wencke Myhre, who is also known in German-speaking countries . The Swedish pop group Gyllene Tider released the piece Povel Ramel, Paul McCartney & Jag (PR, Paul McCartney and me) on their album Moderna Tider .
Ramel suffered from heart problems. He died just days after his 85th birthday.
