Povilas Žagunis (born August 24, 1952 in Jotainiai , Panevėžys Rajon , Lithuania ) is a Lithuanian politician .

Life

In 1985 Povilas Žagunis graduated from the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija as an engineer- hydrotechnician and worked in the field of agricultural melioration in a state company, then in the privatized company AB "Panevėžio melioracija", headed it as director and was elected several times as a member of the Panevėžys Rayon Commune . Since 2004 he has been the mayor of Panevėžys Rajong Municipality .

Povilas Žagunis has headed the local branch of the Lietuvos valstiečių liaudininkų sąjunga party since 2006 and is a member of the Rotary Club. He is married and has two daughters.
