Povilas aksomaitis

Povilas Aksomaitis (born March 29, 1938 in Kaunas , † August 23, 2004 in Kaunas) was a Lithuanian politician and hydrotechnician.

Life

His family was deported to Barnaul Rajon in the Soviet Altai region in southern Western Siberia . In autumn 1946 he was brought to Lithuania by employees of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement .

After graduating from the Aleksonis Middle School in Kaunas in 1956 , he graduated from the Faculty of Hydromelioration in 1961 and received his PhD in agricultural science from the Lietuvos žemės ūkio akademija in 1967 . From 1961 to 1990 he worked at the Research Institute for Hydrotechnology and Improvement in Kėdainiai . From 1968 to 1975 he was head of the science information and propaganda sub-department . From 1990 to 1992 he was a deputy in the Seimas and from 1995 to 2000 a member of the council of the Kėdainiai district .

He was a member of the Tėvynės sąjunga .
