The Powell Cove is a bay on the Budd Coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country . It lies between Whitney Point and Stonehocker Point on the west side of the Clark Peninsula .
Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used to map them. The US polar explorer Carl R. Eklund carried out measurements on site in 1957 . Eklund named it after James T. Powell, who led the collection of meteorological data at Wilkes Station in 1957 .
