Pozo Almonte is a municipality in northern Chile . It includes the settlements of Pozo Almonte, La Huayca, La Tirana, La Colonia Pintados, Mamiña, Parca, Huatacondo and Macaya, as well as numerous ghost towns and industrial ruins left by the saltpeter mining, such as La Noria and the Humberstone and Santa Laura saltpeter works .
