The Prälatenweiher is a pond in the municipality of Mönchsdeggingen in Nördlinger Ries . It is located in a wooded area between the towns of Untermagerbein and Bollstadt .
The pond, which was created artificially in the late Middle Ages, was originally used by the monks of the Mönchsdeggingen monastery for fish farming.
Since the secularization of the monastery in 1803, the pond has been owned by the Princely House of Oettingen-Wallerstein . A bathing hut stood on the bank of the pond until the 1960s.
