Bollstadt is a district of the Bavarian municipality of Amerdingen in the Donau-Ries district .
geography
The parish village is located in a forest clearing, 3 km northeast of Amerdingen. To the north-east rises the Ursprungsbach, later called Bautenbach, a tributary of the Eger . The district road DON 7 runs through the village .
geology
There is a former quarry near Bollstadt where suevite was mined. The striking rock was formed during the Ries event .
history
Bollstadt is first mentioned in the 9th century when the country estates in the town were handed over to the Fulda monastery . In the 13th and 14th centuries, the place was the seat of the knight dynasty von Bollstadt, to which the scientist and theologian Albertus Magnus belonged.
A castle is first mentioned in 1459 and was demolished in 1854.
In 1978 the previously independent community was incorporated into Amerdingen.
